Born and raised in Costa Rica. I migrated to the United States in 2011 at the age of 21. Graduated from high school in 2007 and completed part of my college education in Costa Rica. I continued my higher education studies in the U.S and obtained a bachelors in Excepcional Student Education in 2021. I have been been employed at Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) for the past 6 years. The last 5 years I have been part of the Human Capital Management Department at the School Board of Miami Dade. My main duties are to assure that all MDCPS teachers are certified by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and that they are properly trained to maintain their certification active as mandated by the FLDOE. The ultimate recipients of the work that I do are the students, as my job assures they are receiving world class education from qualified teachers. I currently reside in Miami Beach with my husband Wilkie and my son Dylan (11). I love spending time with my family and I have a passion for exercising and healthy living.
